Georgia College Is A Permanent Residency Card Provider
If you’re interested in permanent residency in Atlanta, Georgia College may be able to sponsor your application for you. There are three types of permanent residency: employment-based, family-based, and ability-based. Employment-based permanent residency petitions are initiated by the employing department of Georgia College. The process is based on a long-term commitment to employment at Georgia College.
After establishing official residency, you’ll need to find a place to live and transfer your personal information. You’ll also need to change your address with the USPS and open a bank account. In order to receive in-state tuition rates, you’ll need to live in the state for 12 months prior to the start of classes.
For those who are not born in the United States, you’ll need to submit proof that you are a citizen by presenting your Naturalization Certificate or birth certificate. If you were born overseas, you must have received a degree from an accredited U.S. school. You also need to show that you have completed at least one year of graduate study in the U.S.
If you’re an independent student, you may qualify to remain classified as an in-state resident for tuition purposes. This status is maintained if you return to Georgia within 12 months, and if the parent claims the student as a dependent on their latest federal or state income tax return.
Georgia College Is Not A Permanent Residency Card Provider
The University System of Georgia has implemented policies regarding student residency in the state of Georgia. These policies are designed to ensure the lawful presence of students who are accepted and apply for resident tuition status at one of the university system’s institutions. Employment-based immigration is a popular way to gain permanent residency. If you are an international employee, Georgia College will sponsor your application for permanent residency based on your employment at the college. Georgia College will also pay the I-140 filing fees associated with the process. You can also opt to pay for premium processing, which will expedite the process. You are responsible for all other costs associated with the application process.
While the Medical College of Georgia aims to notify you as quickly as possible, the Admissions Committee cannot provide verbal status reports. You will be notified by email of any changes to your application. However, keep in mind that it may take months for your application to be approved. Nonetheless, all applicants should know their admission status by April 15.
