Exante is a leading trading platform and investment firm that offers direct market access through its multi-currency and multi-asset trading accounts. It specialises in working with professionals in the finance sector, which includes brokers, financial institutions, retail investors and traders, high-net-worth individuals, and more. Although based in Malta, it has expanded its presence to other parts of the world, namely Hong Kong, Cyprus, and London, and is licensed in all those regions. In our Exante reviews, we take a look at the technology Exante uses, and the features it provides to traders. Keep reading on to learn more about it.
Exante’s Technology
When it comes to Exante’s technology, its platform is built to be robust and data-driven, yet also customisable to clients. For instance, its trading platform provides direct access to all financial markets and instruments from a single multi-currency account. Traders can buy and sell over 600,000 assets, including equities, ETFs, bonds, options, futures, metals, and currencies, all in a few simple clicks.
Exante further boasts a network of over 1,100 servers across the world, in order to ensure the lowest latencies and safe data transfers. This means there is less chance for slippage andprovides traders peace of mind knowing that their data is kept safe with the broker.
Exante’sdownloadable trading platform is also incredibly flexible and versatile. It works on nearly every electronic device out there and can be installed on both desktop and mobile devices. It also works on most operating systems such as Windows, MacOS, Linus Terminal, Android and iOS, and is even available in the App Store and Google Play. This allows traders to keep up with fluctuating markets anytime, anywhere, so long as they have a good internet connection and a compatible electronic device. All versions of the trading platform allow users to access their account balance, trade activity, position overview, bond screener, real-time market data and more.
Aside from a downloadable version, Exante also provides traders with a web trading platform. Its interface is nearly identical to the downloadable version, except that it can be instantly accessed through a user’s web browser instead. It works on most web browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and even Opera. This makes it fast and smooth for traders to use, as there is no need to manually install any software or program. If you were worried that the web-based version may be lacking in tools, don’t fret. Its Chart allows traders to visualise their financial data easily and can be shared among friends. This is done by creating a shareable link, which may encourage more collaboration in the trading community.
HTTP API
Traders can use Exante’s HTTP API to design a variety of fast, sleek, and data-rich financial apps to their preference. This can be in the form of smart messenger bots, option strategy advisors, market analysis mobile apps, to even websites with stock tickers and wholesale trading solutions. By simply tapping intoExante’ ultimate market data source, traders have the power to build next-generation applications, feed their trading strategies and visualise market quotes to their heart’s content.
For example, clients can use Exante’s HTTP API to build a price alert bot. These bots are incredibly finance-savvy and show live market quotes, price alerts, and the current market stance. For users who may not be comfortable with dealing with codes directly, you can also check out Exante’s Market Bot in Telegram. It provides access to quotes, charts, and price alerts for over 600,000 financial instruments in more than 50 markets. Even better, is that the bots work in both group and private chats. As these bots can be shared, this is a fantastic way of bolstering the trading community.
For the more artistically inclined, users can create market stickers, which can be sent to friends with real-time market rates. Exante also providesExante Stickers in Telegram as well. These stickers can share prices of financial instruments you are interested in, as well as cryptocurrencies. Stickers also update in real-time, meaning when you send them, users can immediately see the current asset price.
Exante’s trading platform further allows clients to create exchange rate bots, which follow currency rates in real-time. For those not wishing to do it themselves, Exante also provides their ready-made Exchange rates bot. The only thing a trader needs to do is to set their currency preferences and follow their live dynamics in a smart bot. Traders can further customise the bot with signals so they will receive notifications whenever the currency they are interested in reaches the desired figure.
FIX API
Exante also has features unique to algorithmic traders. In this case, this comes in the form of their FIX API, otherwise known as Financial Information Exchange Application Programming Interface. This is a messaging protocol that is widely used in the electronic trading industry, and by no means exclusive to forex trading. In fact, it can be used in stock, metals, futures, and options exchanges. The upside is that FIX API helps to create a smooth flow of real-time data between participants in the market, as it does not need much bandwidth to transmit information.
More specifically, Exante supports a FIX 4.4-based API. This enables data transfer, quote retrieval, and full-scale trading automation. This FIX connection is entirely free but is only available for clients that have an account value of 50,000EUR/GBP and equivalent or higher. Additionally, Exante’s FIX bridge gives clients access to all markets available and allows them to obtain normalised data from all exchanges.
Furthermore, unlike other brokers that have similar offers, Exante’s solutions allow users to monitor all of their account activity in the Exante trading platform interface out-of-the-box, as well as through their own tools using API requests. That said, orders made from the trading platform interface cannot be watched via FIX.
Currently, Exanteprovides multiple live FIX servers in London, London LD4 DC, Germany, New York NY4DC, Moscow DataSpace DC, and Equinix CH3 data centre in Chicago. You can even connect to two servers at the same time for backup purposes. Live servers work 24/7, with the exception of a daily 2-minute maintenance from 16:58 to 17:00 EST. Exante will even help clients to establish connections through their hubs, with the setup usually taking up to one business day. However, it is important to note that Exante does not provide assistance with any prior setup required to enable FIX connections on any electronic devices and they are not responsible for the quality of any third-party services.
